Nature Coast Dragon Boat Club
One Club, Three Teams!

A club with something for everyone that loves to be on the water!

The ancient sport of DRAGONBOAT racing is the fastest growing water sport in the world! It is a team sport in its purest form, and encompasses the elements of power, speed, synchronization and endurance. Ten or twenty paddlers, one steer, and one drummer work in total harmony. ALL age groups are welcome, 12 years old and UP!!! Did you know that there are Senior D clubs that race on a national level and those folks must be 70 plus?

Nature Coast DragonBoat Club is excited to be ONE Club offering THREE (3) separate teams:
RACE, COMMUNITY, and YOUTH. All teams will receive advanced level coaching and equipment is available to all new paddlers. We are based in Homosassa and train on the Homosassa River (with additional destinations in the Community Paddle Team).

The RACE team and YOUTH Team will practice for and be eligible to enter races. As a competitive DRAGONBOAT racing club, we enter many DRAGONBOAT festivals throughout the year. Festivals offer 10-person mini-boat and 20-person standard boat options; we have both mixed gender and women-only race teams.
As a nonprofit (501c7), our club performs community service activities throughout the year. We also love to have fun and enjoy socializing off the water- we train hard and play hard!
Our club does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, age, national/ethnic origin, or political beliefs.
RACE TEAM:
Competitive, Exhilarating, Exciting!
Introductory paddle limited to 3 practices with membership required beyond the introduction. Membership $150 yearly. $20 per month available for non year round paddlers. Must be paid in full for all months you expect to attend, (ie; snow birds).

COMMUNITY TEAM:
For those wishing to be introduced to the sport in a leisure-casual practice environment
Member - Free, Non-member $10 per paddle event regardless of type of paddle event. Membership $150 yearly. $20 per month available for non year round paddlers. Must be paid in full for all months you expect to attend, (ie; snow birds).
COMMUNITY TEAM WILL NOT BE RACING.

Introductory session $30 (averaging $5 per session over a six week, (once weekly) session period.

What we're about:

It is a team sport in its purest form, and encompasses the elements of power, speed, synchronization and endurance. Twenty paddlers, one steers, and one drummer work in total harmony. We have two 20-person and one ten person boats and are based in Old Homosassa and train on the beautiful Homosassa River.

This is an exciting and exhilarating sport! It is our mission to introduce those with the desire and physical capacity to become proficient in the art of dragon boat racing -- and then race to win! Advanced level coaching and equipment is available to all new paddlers. All fitness levels are welcome; it's our goal to train you to succeed. We encourage a healthy lifestyle through physical activity.
Current Practice schedule Tuesday evenings 5:30 PM and
Sat mornings at 9:30 AM. Guests Welcome Tuesday Evenings!
We meet at 5:30 pm. On the water by 6:00 pm.
Saturdays at 9:30 am . On the water by 10 am.
